Fluoroelastomers with Enhanced Properties
The Viton™ A-type family of fluoroelastomers are dipolymers comprised of hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and vinylidene fluoride (VF₂). They are used in a wide range of extrusion, injection molding, and solution coating applications, and some grades act as effective curing chemicals and metal adhesion promoters.
Typical products that use Viton™ A-type fluoroelastomers include:
O-rings
Valve stem and shaft seals
Parts with complicated shapes
Fuel hoses and tubing
Solution coatings for fabrics, tanks, and chemical containers
Features and Benefits
All Viton™ A-type fluoroelastomers offer temperature and chemical resistance, but different grades may also provide additional benefits, such as:
Lower viscosity
Faster cure rate
Less mold fouling
Improved mold flow and release
Improved compression set resistance and tear properties
